How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- FERPA: All information is maintained by Mr. Davis and I cannot provide student and student family information to anyone unless they are a parent, a guardian, or an individual acting as a parent in the absence of a parent or a guardian of the child or I have express consent from one of those individuals. While there are exceptions for other school staff, these other school staff still have to have a need to know. This is typically limited to those other teachers, counselors and paraprofessionals that work directly with the student or my superiors (principal, assistant principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent. Lastly, there is also an exception for law enforcement investigating child abuse.
- Educational Purposes: To share classroom activities and student progress with parents/guardians. To provide educational resources and updates.
- Communication: To respond to inquiries and provide support. To send newsletters, announcements, and updates regarding class activities and events.
- Website Improvement: To monitor and analyze usage to improve the website’s functionality and content.
- Website Security: To monitor and analyze the security of the website and to respond to cyber threats. This helps me protect the website
- Law Enforcement: Teachers are mandatory reporters of child abuse. I am mandated to report allegations of child abuse to the proper authorities.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not share personal information with third parties except as described in this policy:
- With Parental Consent: Photos and videos of classroom activities will only be shared on the website with explicit parental consent.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
- Educational Need to Know: We may disclose your information to other district and/or campus staff but only of the other individual has an educational need to know what is being shared.
